Golf in Dubai
Your Guide to playing golf in Dubai or organising a Dubai Golfing Holiday
Dubai has become one of the world's leading destinations for golfing holidays, and with good reason. There are more than a dozen world-class courses in and around the city and most offer access to non-members. The clubhouse facilities at Dubai's many golf courses are first class, and with the tax free prices on sporting equipment, there are few better places to kit yourself out with the latest set of hi-tech clubs.
Golf's popularity has been underlined in recent years by the increased prominence of the annual Dubai Desert Classic tournament. This takes place on the challenging Wadi Course of the Emirates Golf Club, and attracts the biggest names in the world of golf to the greens during the last week of March.
With sunshine everyday golf in Dubai is a popular pastime, and many of the locals trade the boardroom for the fairways. It is important to book your rounds in advance of travel to ensure that you can enjoy the best teeing off times.
A round of golf in Dubai is comparable in price to most other major golfing destinations, although prices vary throughout the year. The cheapest times are during the summer and on weekdays when the demand is lower. Summer temperatures can get above 100F, so make sure you carry plenty of water with you when you play.
